Sayo:  Hi, I’m Sayo.
Du:  I’m Du. How are you?
S:   I’m fine, thanks. And you?
D:   Pretty good, thanks.
S:   Nice day, isn’t it?
D:   Yeah, but it’s a little warm. I don’t like hot weather so much.
S:   Really? I like hot weather.
D:   Yeah, asking some questions about each other.
S:   Do you want to ask first?
D:   Yeah, sure. Okay. The first one, What’s your name and what does it mean?
S:   My name is Sayo. “Sa” means “beautiful, thin cloth.”
D:   Uh-huh. And “yo?” What does “yo” mean?
S:   There is no meaning for “yo.” My parents were thinking to call me “Chiyo,” but I like “Sayo” better than that.
S:   Um, how about you? What’s your name?
D:   My name is “Duane.” And it means “beautiful singer.”

D:   No. Not really. I think my parents made a mistake. In Japan, most people call me “Du.” That’s my nickname. Please call me “Du.”

D:   My hobbies?

D:   Um, I like basketball, computers, music, learning languages…

S:   Yes. She is my favorite singer. I really like “All I want for Christmas is you” too.
D:   Oh, love songs…
S:   Well, nice to talk to you.
D:  Yeah, nice to talk to you, too.
